You said wild camping and cooking, so there is no tap between where you come off and where you sleep. Clean your hands before you touch any of it, and again before you handle food — it is the step people skip, and out there nothing makes up for it.

It is still the right way round, because an hour of being thirsty ends and grit left under a dressing does not.
